20 grand slam champion Roger Federer was facing Stefanos Tsitsipas who is the most improved player of 2018. 37-year-old Federer picked to serve first and looked solid in the first set. Tsitsipas also played his level best. It was a joy to watch Federer’s forehand which is still as good as ever. Roger Federer won each and every game to his serve and his accurate serve took him into the tiebreaker in the first set. Tsitsipas’s 200+ Kmh Serves are difficult to break for Federer and therefore he got an edge over Roger. Roger Federer was a class apart when it comes to winning net points. Federer won 25 out of 31 net points overall in the match which shows us how good he is on the nets. After a lot of hassle, the first set is won by Federer in a tiebreaker by 7-6.
In the second set, Tsitsipas Started his actions more aggressively and tried every possible thing he can to level the match but Roger was ahead of him and gave him a tough contest throughout the second set. There were a lot of miss hits from Tsitsipas during the match which costs him a few points. In the second set, Tsitsipas also dispensed us his reflexes and Roger his readiness at an age of 37.
The difference in the second set is generated by Federer by crafting points on some crucial occasions. Roger, Just found out the right angle while hitting the ball.
In this entire match, Roger Didn’t lose a single game on his serve which results in a tie-break in both the sets and helped Roger to win against a young and tough competitor by 7-6, 7-6 in two straight sets.
