Urine analysis, at instance anyone tell you that it’s just a test because of belief, what we gain from a waste product of human body but if we stress our mind and think about its production which is so complex. Medical science says that about 1200 ml blood per minute filtered by kidneys and only 1.5 to 2.0 litres of urine produced in 24 hours. This is the reason how a urine sample is important.
Being a dual degree (pathology and microbiology) doctor I have experienced during my practice that cerebral stroke is strongly associated with urinary tract diseases, especially infection.
This study shows promising results in management and prevention of stroke.
Methodology and results:
The study conducted at Livepath laboratory, Banswara, Rajasthan. A total 6 cases of cerebral stroke and one case of malignant hypertension were studied and surprisingly all were having urinary tract infection. Two patients were having infection with two types of bacterium and rest had infection by single type of bacterium. At Livepath laboratory any patient arrives with stroke or malignant hypertension or have past history of these we always prefer to examine his/her urine. In some other conditions urine analysis is also important. Many times we have listened from our mentor about the importance of urine analysis but we imply only after personally experiencing the results.
I think neurologist must put a request of urine analysis as patient of stroke arrived. In my view urine analysis is not just a laboratory test it is more than that, what about you ?
